A symbol or figure with secret or occult significance… this design fuses two common patterns in Persian Gabbehs in three layers: rhombus medallions (double triangles symbolising women) and linear borders (a classical element in Iranian weaving) wedged within two layers of horizontal stripes (rectangles symbolising men) of bold colours. The glitch effect enhances the perception of a hidden message… comparable to a shamanic charm? Persian decorative art is awash with spiritual ‘hidden’ missives – stylised, abstract, and often depicted in geometric patterns and forms.  This is a Glitch Gabbeh with a subliminal message…
